what an incredible thread.

How far away are the pyramids from the city's edge? I can't really tell from the photo and the map from page 2. Is it within a mile?

The Pyramid complex grounds are literally across the street from the edge of the city.

That's right... Well kind of. In fact its like 200-300m, which is still pretty damn close!

Amazing. 17 million people living together in one urban center. I had the priveledge of visiting Cairo myself back in February of this year.

It is really amazing ! May post more pics for this magic and magnificent ancient city -Cairo .
