I wish that was the same as Victoria. Mind you there have been many proposals approved at 17 stories. There is a proposal for twin 20 stories towers and one at 30. \Maybe we can borrow your city council. Time will tell if these proposals get approved.

Kelowna needs a new pinnacle, don't need another table top, hope this is approved (and proceeds to be built, still hoping that hotel tower goes through...).

Not just proposals but projects well on their way to completion, in fact by the end of the summer Victoria's skyline will look noticeably different than today.

I agree I just hope council votes in favor of the 30 story tower. That 35 story building going up in Kelowna looks awesome. Time will tell. I also hope that Ben Isit doesn't become mayor next election as much as people don't like our mayor she has been supportive of higher building heights. Where Ben has said he is not in support of taller buildings.

Why am I not surprised Isitt doesn't like tall buildings? He's the ultimate troglodyte opposed to any kind of economic activity or growth.

I really don't like Mr Isitt. I hope that townline goes for that 30 story building before we change council.

It's really nice to see another high-rise go up in Kelowna. The skyline is slowly, but surely bulking up.

It is great to see the Kelowna skyline getting a new major addition (and removing a huge eyesore at the same time). I am also happy that this tower is actually located within the main skyline. Kelowna sometimes reminds me of a Japanese city, in the way that there are so many random orphaned high rises doted throughout town.

Man the NIMBYs are out in full force with these two projects. Fortunately, they only appear to make up a tenth of the population.

With the 35 storey tower, people are generally excited that the ugly mound of dirt is going to turn into something nice. Ground floor retail is a huge plus.

Watch out, a noisy ten percent can be quite effective against an indifferent ninety percent.

The 35/27 storey proposal is now officially called 'ONE Water Street'.

The website is strictly registration at this point but it's another step forward hopefully. http://onewaterstreet.ca/

Appears to be another project quietly in the works. Listed as "Pending" on the property which supports up to 26 floors in current zoning.
