I saw this blocked off parking lot on my lunch break. The northeast corner of Randolph and Wells, just east of Randolph Tavern. This is one of the last surface lots in the Loop. Anybody have info on a potential development?

Looks like there's some early action on a 14-story development in the South Loop:

Development Action at Southeast Corner of Wabash and 14th?

I believe this isn't the plot of land that Lagrange has scoped out. That's across the street.

Ugh, I hate the SLOOP guy, always the NIMBY. Hoping for rowhomes at that intersection.

There was a sketchy hotel plan floating around a while back...
And soil testers are spotted there like every few months or so.

Is that the CMK parcel?

I liked the video a lot.

But I'm not sure that speeding up the video worked well on a few of the shots taken when you were moving at street level near light poles and street signs

I have it listed as 174 W Randolph - it is now a fenced off surface lot. The demo was over 10yrs ago.

The 14th & Wabash site is two buildings being developed jointly by CMK: a 15-story building with an address on 14th, with 199 units; and a 10-story building at 1415 S. Wabash that will contain 68 apartments. The complex will also include retail spaces and 88 parking stalls.

^ Buildings like this are going to do small wonders for the urbanity in sections of western River North. Now if someone could build something to take up the entire NE lot at Erie & Orleans, it would be awesome for the area.

Yep - this has been brought up a few times before. Not only is it on the zoning board's plan tomorrow but both buildings were already issued some building permits for h-piles.

I've never been a big fan of Antunovich Associates but 'The Mill' might end up being my favorite for it's size from this cycle.
