The genius of 53W53 is location, design and height.

Been out of town the past couple of weeks, and won't return home for a few more days. But I've already missed this one. Can't wait to get back to see the towers rising.

NYguy, you really outdid yourself with those eye-candy shots!

Those outer diagonal beams look insanely great!
Would love to see that design appear in other worthy cities.

That Central Park view is utterly unreal.

This is my fav building under construction of any and every city in the world.

Denver needs the original 1155' version of this tower. Perfect with the mountains.

I had very high expectations for this tower and am underwhelmed at the result. The shape is beautiful but the skin turned out to look like every other glass tower constructed in the last 20 years.

I think part of the problem is that is surrounded by so many other tall buildings. It really needed to be 200 feet higher or more to stand out. I wonder if the proposal had been for 1450 or more feet if it would have been chopped down to the mere 1050 feet that it is now.

It's like a completely different city popped up overnight.

Meanwhile, we are within a few feet of topping out, so close I can taste it...

I have a feeling that the top is being delayed for a very specific date.

That Iroquois flag is great. Saw those symbols on a steel beam at 1 Manhattan early in the construction too.

As much as I like this version, I have to agree. And I have not forgiven Amanda Burden for this!
