Renovations starting soon in Kitchener on the original Goudie's Department store to convert it to brick and beam and possibly some retail space.

Keith Hall on Hollis Street - at one point it was Alexander Keith's house, and it's attached to the Brewery Market (which was the original Keiths' brewery - I think it's still operational - either way it hosts the "original" weekend farmers' market). It was recently restored as part of a development happening on the same block.

Note: the brewery is not the adjacent brown building. It's behind/below Keith Hall.

^Gorgeous building. I'm not sure I care for the lights, however - very prominent. I thought they were plastic owls at first.

This one in Kingston is nearing completion. This building was built in 1834 and among other things, it was Sir John A. MacDonald's law office.

It's now being repurposed as apartment rentals.

Took these myself, apologies for the low quality.

Although funny you say that seeing the SAM the Record Man sign will be out back up because of their heritage value.

The Simmons Buiding restoration in Calgary's East Village has been amazing. Some twitter photos from various folks of the interior and the patio. Got a chance to try out the patio last Thursday with a group of Urban Planners (exclusive preview event) - was amazing and food from Charbar was awesome.

Here is a link to a Calgary Herald Story about the transformation:

This former CN railway station used to be derelict but has been restored a few years ago. It now serves as an inter-cities bus station and a microbrewery.

This is what it looked like in 2005. It was demolished in the winter of 2012-2013 to make room for the Rideau Centre expansion.
