I worked at the DPS in the summertime going to college....

......way back when Metro State was scattered all over. I got to wheel wet cement downstairs into South High where they were pouring a new locker room floor. We put up chain link at Place Jr High and there was this female black widow that lived inside the corner cowling and would come out and try to jump at us...ah memories.

As a kid, it was fun to climb along the brick walls of some of the older schools, with their elaborate brick work, there was always a small ledge a few feet up...Now that was fun! If you fell off, the pretend game was that you fell off the Empire State Building.

Nice collection. Good to see that they're being kept up.

Wow! I've always had an interest in school buildings, and this is a great collection. Maybe even better than St. Louis, which is known for it's nice schools.

Nice shots.

I was always envious of Denver's school architecture, having to go to Adams County's Ranum high, with its gulag-like International style design. I guess I got some sort of revenge, though, in 1982, when I vomited in the middle of a cross country meet at South High.

There is something to be said for the emotional reactions one has in a certain environment or a specific structure and it can be conducive to learning. However, I did find myself day dreaming while watching the lake and mountain views in junior high or keeping up on all the building progress downtown in the 80s from the view at my high school.

Hey Gabe, yes Cowell was too modern for this thread, I went with only historic structures. So when are you going to post some of your photos?

Question: what photos have I taken in the past half year? Mostly ones I got paid to do...I haven't even snapped construction photos of Zi Lofts or Broadstone Lofts. Just Rockies games.

Sounds like time for a charitable donation of photos to your fellow forumers! You take great shots and have an excellent perspective of Denver!
