TAIPEI | FLORA EXPO - Pollibrick?

I am currently visiting Taipei and I saw a really cool green building being built near "Yuan San" subway station.
It's for the Flora Expo happening next year.

The building structure is built using recycled plastic so the exterior looks really cool cause it's kind of transparent.
The bricks called Polli-bricks are quite interesting. They look like plastic bottles but they actually can be stacked and become a stable wall or roof.
The building is quite big too.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard or seen this.
Also, if you have, do you know how does this Pollibrick work?
Thx.

The Company that is building that Flora Expo building is called " MiniWIZ".
I think they sell solar and wind powered chargers. I've kinda looked into what they are planning on doing. On Tree Hugger.com someone posted some images of what the expo building will look like, and the progress of it now.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this completed.

AWesome Pics!!

I like how the transparentness of the bricks look with the building. I have to visit taipei again to see this. I think it starts in March 2010... not sure though.

This is totally worth looking forward too.
I looking into the company website and saw that these bricks are interlocking so they are very sturdy and easy to build with

Taipei Structure - Polli Brick

Is it me or are the beams on the structure pictured rather wider than normal?

Yup i think this is a temporary building. Until the Flora Expo is over.
What do you mean by wider than normal?
I know it seems like such a waste, but maybe it can be moved?? haha hopeful thinking...

I'm looking through the tree hugger forum and the discussion about Polli-brick is really in depth. The link is here if you're interested

Here is a BBC news report with videos of the inside and outside of the Polli-Brick building. Take a look at the supports inside the building. There is something interesting going on there. I've been wondering about it since this conversation started. But, I can't put my finger on it. Anybody with an opinion?
