I like those corn cobs. I've secretly been waiting for you to get those farther along. The higways look good too.

^Secretly? Why didn't you speak up? This thread's been kinda slow the past couple days, at least a request would keep things moving.

you totally rule.

maybe a simulated view coming up from the dan ryan? or from sox park area at 35th and shields? I don't see much from the south side looking north.

but only if you have time.

I've been on this board for years asking people about new axonometric images, and you just appeared. brilliant!

You know, it's your thing. Who am I to tell/ask you what to do? So how about making the bridges across the water in 3-D? And the river recessed in elevation? And here's a suggestion... start with the tallest exhisting building (already built) and give it its texture, then work down in height. Then get to the U/C & proposed buildings.

The bridges/river are a while from being implemented, there's a lot of work that has to be done before that can be done. However, I was working on the textures today. I'm working from the top down, regardless of whether the building is built or u/c. First pics of the new buildings will be posted tomorrow.

3 New textured towers. If you think I shot too many of 311 South, too bad, it took 6 hours to do it, more than the other two combined.

BTW Anyone remember that old proposal to build Towers at 301 and 321 South Wacker?

Can you imagine how horrible that would have looked?
That's maybe the only reason I'm glad the 90's boom ended.

No need to imagine, you can experience the horror yourself: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=100671

I couldn't help myself. Though, the extra buildings did help me position 311, it was off by some 10 feet.

Just added Grand Kingsbury and fixed up 2 Pru, though I'm not really happy with the latter, but screw it. New pano in post 1.

Is that a moat or a force field I see around the Merchandise Mart in pic 1 of post #232?

You've never head of how the river is dyed for the downtown St Pat's parade?

NO, not that. I meant the actual sidewalks around the Merchandise Mart in your model seem to radiate. It looks great.

Of course I know they dye the river on St. Pat's Day, who do you think they buy the dye from?

BTW, that's a great pic of the river.

I think you refering to the ground layer that hasn't been sidewalked over yet. It's basically a huge plane covered with a low resolution aerial photo, which looks good as the horizon, but so-so close up. It'll be gone eventually.

Hotel Intercontinental North. This has been a neglected one, so it got the full treatment.

Hint: take a close look at #3

Nice new stuff. I appreciate how much work it must be.
I was in Miami over the weekend. It's amazing how much is going up there. But then again it's amazing how much seems to be going up in Chicago.

Parkview West. A deceptive tower. The main rendering shows its slender side, but move a few blocks east and it turns into a chunk.

351 North Clark. Nice, subtle, corporate.

150 East Ontario. I'm really liking this one.

535 St. Claire. Meh.

Streeterville from da air.

Fordham and Fordham

Assorted North Branch 'scrapers

Nothing new, but a fun angle.
