Probably the Second Cup at Church and Wellesley. The store was recessed into the building with steps leading up to it. These steps were a very popular gathering place. They have been built over.

No, those were the iconic "The Steps" of fond memory. The place I'm thinking of was further south, down past Carlton somewhere. I'm sure it must be long since demolished.

Hey now! I genuinely do enjoy Fortis (the one with wood paneling to the far left; it replaced a lumber yard tower), and the Cabot Place Complex (blue and pink twins). Scotia Plaza (dark blue one on waterfront, with the red ScotiaBank logo) doesn't offend me but it's not great. The rest are awful, exceptionally so in some ways (the Great Wall of Delta; and the block-sized Atlantic Place - a whole block in a city this small! Feck).

The Great Wall of Delta:

Atlantic Place:

Still blows my mind that the government intended to replace all of Water Street with buildings from the same era as Atlantic Place. If not for councillor Shannie Duff rallying people to protect our heritage, that we needn't be embarrassed of our old, modest city... we'd be total shit today.

Wow, this Atlantic Place is brutal! The Delta looks okay though (typical bland/corporate, but not offensive/tasteless.)

Yeah it did give me an education in Clockzilla anatomy. It also has a hump on the backside of it's head.

Any chance of adding this building into the mix?

https://goo.gl/maps/tWj3oonQ4fC2

FYI architects have their offices in the building on the left and the right and a beloved Shoppers Drug Mart across the road

I actually like the balconies on that. They kinda help with the otherwise drab commie block shape. What an area for an architect's office though!
