Amazing Lighting at Lake Louise Alberta

We went to Lake Louise this week and were treated to the most amazing lighting of the lake I have ever seen. It was a constant mix of clouds, sun and rain all within about 1.5 hours.

This is where you can rent canoes to tour the lake.

It was a busy day but not too crowded

It had rained a bit and when the sun came out, the water evaporated and created small mists.

This is the boat dock.

More tourists (like me) enjoying the view.

There was constant mist around the lake.

The sun came out and highlighted various areas.

I love the colour of the lake against the trees on the shore.

Another look at the lake and the amazing lighting.

Heading into the chateau

Time for a break and the view out the windows

Heading out, the aftermath of a shower looking west and a rainbow looking east.

Oh my gosh, those are amazing. So unreal looking. Man, thanks for posting those. That first one is just nuts. Those with the canoes are especially cool, such a striking contrast.

Damn! Incredible stuff.

I was there in 1995 or thereabouts, and the air was mostly hazy from smoke from forest fires in the US Northwest, so I didn't get to fully comprehend the beauty of the place. It was still memorable, though.

Thank you so much. I have been lucky enough to have been there a few times but I have never seen the same lighting conditions (sun, clouds, mist, rain, ..) as I saw this time.
