^I am looking body only. That's why I nixed the D5000 which looked like a decent choice except the AF mechanism is in the lens and not the body. Lenses would work, but no AF which wouldn't be a problem except the lenses in question don't have good focusing features (no split image helpers). The D80 is not in the camera stores around here and doesn't appear to be manufactured anymore, so it would have to used. I'm not sure I'm hip with a used piece of equipment. Maybe if I knew the owner and the usage pretty well, but there's just a lot that can happen to a camera out in the world. It's not like home stereo equipment that sits on a shelf.
