Painting the concrete on the garage would make it look less like an add-on and would give it a more finished appearance.

Yeah I like the black and white going on in the renderings but the current yellow looks cheap/dated.

Yeah I agree that color looked better ...the renderings never show the garage in the back

Is there any movement on some light rail or other mass transit to the airport? Several years ago there seemed to be some talk of it.

After the 1984 World's Fair, there was talk of having the monorail run between the lanes of I-10 to the airport. It would run to the airport from the convention center, with stops at Metairie Road and Lakeside Shopping Center. If I remember correctly, there was also talk of having it run down Poydras.

It never went further than talk because of the huge debt from the fair. I kind of liked the idea.

I know rail systems and monorail systems are expensive, but it would be another feather in NO's cap to make a success of something like that.

I dont really see that happening anytime soon... maybe a short route hyperloop is possible.

Council Approves Redesign of Duncan Plaza

An ordinance was approved authorizing the Mayor to enter into a 20-year Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the City and the Downtown Development District (DDD) in order to redesign, redevelop and operate the public space located across from City Hall.

Having gone largely unused for 60 years, Duncan Plaza will receive an estimated $5 million redesign in an effort to make the park a more vibrant and modern downtown green space.

Following this redevelopment, the park will be utilized for events such as concerts, outdoor movie screenings, and community fairs while continuing to serve as a space for public demonstrations, given its proximity to City Hall.

I would think one. If one crane can handle the canal crossing and that project has a larger footprint than 1031; Id say its just one crane

They have the footings for two tower cranes. The footings have been there for months though. I'm beginning to think this project is dead.
