Richardson project should be unveiled in a couple weeks. Getting some professional renderings done right now. They look pretty good. It’s got some dramatic features.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a building go to construction. I’m excited. It’s going to be a different kind of building for the area. Hopefully it starts more surrounding development. It’s the next beachhead in downtown, especially with portage and main opening and the forks Railside.

Interior renos will begin soon to fully separate the small Parlour space and the big B&B space.

^ Interesting choice for this mysterious American company as main floor space is not in short supply downtown... I wonder why they chose that space in particular?

They are still working on their permits... Almost done though.
Construction is imminent.

Mike Pagtakhan is calling for tougher bylaws given that the St. Charles Hotel has been sitting vacant for a decade.

https://globalnews.ca/news/4095242/w...nt-for-decade/

The city's response to this issue has been pathetic... if this doesn't make the case for tougher bylaws clear then I don't know what will.

The article is really just about a pair of buildings on the market, but it's further to what was being discussed recently in this thread.

Winnipeg heritage buildings snapped up for redevelopment

The city's Exchange District is showing signs of increased demand
