Wonderful pics TNTD. Newer scrapers and some older stuff too (Ybor City - cool). Wondering how you got rid of all those crazy birds in the first few pics? Look forward to the rest of the trip, thanks.

@cabasse - the pic you highlighted, I agree, the Mom is cute (and about the right age). That's what you meant right?

Buzzards aka Black and Turkey Vultures. We get them in Winter. They fly north for the summer. The love to ride the updrafts around the skyscrapers. January is prime birding season down here.

Yes, Moxie's Cafe! All you Tampons need to try it...SO GOOD!!

http://www.moxiescafe.com/

Here's my addition to Tony's. I have many of the same, so I'll just post my others...

Very nice!

What is this development?

AAAAAH!! It's Chucky!

That Port Authority Garage is a beaut!

I really like this building.

Woops! Out the back windshield going over the bay.

Pelicans are my new favorite species!

Look! There goes one now!

The only sighting of St. Peter...from the freeway.

My camera did not enjoy taking pictures of Tampa at night, so that is it from me.

What a wonderful place!

Very cool photos. Tampa is another one of my freeway drive by cities, my entire time down there was spent in suburban Clearwater, and that was about 10 years ago. Looks like I need to visit agian, very cool looking place. And whats up with nearly getting arrested in Indiana? Story time please...

What is this development?

Someone from Tampa will have to give you the specifics on individual developments, but that is the Channelside district (Port Authority) undergoing massive construction/reconstruction with condos, restaurant, retail, business, etc.

Great pics, Tony and Eric!

Tony, I didn't know you visited Birmingham last year...or perhaps I have forgotten. Did you post the photos here before your computer crashed?

I'm really glad you guys enjoyed Tampa. Its too bad you didn't have the opportunity to see St. Pete. I think St. Pete has one of the prettiest and nicely landscaped downtowns in Florida.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures of Jacksonville too. Thanks.

That's Grand Central at Kennedy, a 392 unit mixed use project and one of many rising in the Channel District. I'm still kicking myself for not investing in a property there back in 2000. Anyway, here's a link to a website with renderings of several of the Channel District's current infill projects.

thanks for the comments.

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to really dive into Jacksonville - but rest assured I will be back there this year to do a much deserved thread of Florida's northern gem.

Randy - the B'ham shots were lost before I had a chance to post them - but ask DevinLee - I did spend nearly three days in the Magic City!

I agree DT St Pete is worth a visit and its becoming quite a dining, nightlife and residential destination.
