A Big Slice of Brooklyn: Mangia!

A quick tour of Brooklyn, mostly Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and a little Gravesend at the finish. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Downtown and Brooklyn Heights

Cobble Hill

Gravesend

I thought the Kids Plus being located next the racy tattoo parlor on Avenue U was an odd juxtaposition.

Spumoni Gardens is home to the best Sicilian pizza ever!

And lastly a view of lower Manhattan from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

I hope you enjoyed the pics. Ciao!

I am always amazed at the caliber of architecture in New York. It is so dense with amazing buildings, it is hard to comprehend. I can't imagine what a fullsize brownstone like the one on the left here would cost. $5 million or more?

Good question. I got me thinking and doing a quick search I found a listing for a three story brownstone in Brooklyn Heights listing for $4.7 million. The one you pointed out is four stories so go figure on about $6 million or more. I have to believe that many of them are subdivided into units though so finding a whole townhouse for you and your family is going to be hard. I sure as hell can't afford one!

Beautiful buildings and love the cottony, cloudy sky as a contrast in some of the first shots. Thanks!

Nice stuff. Brooklyn Heights is one of the classiest neighborhoods in the US. Great to see some Gravesend too.

My parents almost bought the one they lived in Brooklyn Heights in 1973, for like $70k.
They moved to New Jersey instead. Jersey rules, but still...

If I'm not on the forum much in the next while, it's because I've overdosed on amazing residential architecture
