Thanks for that River North shot Solar. I was wondering how things were shaping up from that angle.
The glass is a really light color there. It'll form an interesting contrasting pair with IBM.
to answer an earlier question, I do think it will take on iconic status because of its position.
also because of its design, which includes so many nods to its neighbors in terms of setbacks and reflectivity.
but would CS take some of the shine off it? sure..
I have photos to offer this forum taken by JR. We conversated 3-4 weeks ago about these images, but because of a family emergency and getting back to work I'd been unable to edit and upload the photos until now. Because of the number of images I will upload these in groups. If you have any questions about the photos, please refer them to JR. My only roll in this was minor editing and uploading.
Looks about 1/3rd the way up. This is the most photagenic tower in possibly the most photogenic spot in the city. Thats a good match. It looks so good!
As the only view I have of TTC is this forum and the TribCam, did my eyes deceive me or are we starting to move up from the transfer floor already? Coulda swore I saw it this evening on the cam.
Very, very, very, very, very nice. I search paper model of this building and I have great collection of paper skyscrapers including new york times building.Pics soon...
Its almost like a giant version of those mirrors they have in Battery Park City in New York. Maybe this could be another way to sway the NIMBYS to support a project!
I think the reflection helps the overall area of this tower. Most buildings would not be nearly this reflective. So they would dampen the light and make the area even darker. This one brings the sunlight to the street.
