nicely done, you're making me miss central europe. i lived in prague for 3.5+ years and never made it to warsaw. all the poles i know, no matter where, seem to dislike warsaw. is it for the same reason that germans seem to dislike frankfurt a.m., as it is too modern (american)?

my dad's family is from bielsko-biała, so even when i was in poland before i lived in prague we would stay in the south, but i hope to make it to warsaw this year with a family contingent.

cheers.

My dad's family is from Bielsko-Biala as well, and I've visited Poland 4 times with my parents as a child without once visiting Warsaw. I've been to Zakopane, the southwest, Krakow, Bielsko-Biala, the Baltic Coast, but not once in Warsaw. Next time, I'll visit.

Great photos, the city looks awesome.

Anybody know the year and number of that classic Mercedes?

great photos. Warsaw is a special city... I can't wait to go back. Do you have any photos of the Praga District? Apparently it's going through some intense gentrification.

One of my favourite buildings in Warsaw in the centre; the Leykam building from 1946.

Warsaw made a rapid progress in past few years.

In summer I will take some photos of Prague and put them here. Everytime I go there I just wonder of the progressive development of the city. The same in Budapest in Hungary.

I have some pics from Praga at my PBase site, the last eight pics in this gallery. They are a couple of years old, I guess it's already changed some. When I was there it was striking how new, modern buildings were side by side with extremely decayed ones.

Really, Really lovely. Great shots. I think I like the looks of Krakow just a touch more though.

A strikingly handsome city, and beautiful photos.
