Some Random Shots of Ottawa

I did a fair bit of walking around Ottawa last summer. Should probably upload some of those photos.

.A pretty bleak building that often looks really lonely.

.Some views from a quarry or something. Not quite the escarpment, but still nice.

.I warn you that I think facebook duplicated some of these, but I'm not sure.

.I think they're all part of Lincoln Fields.

.There's really a lot of apartment buildings out here.

.No zoom.

.Suddenly a city appears!

.This street is like 10 lanes wide at some points. Proof that two way isn't necessarily friendly.

.Lots of concrete in those buildings. I think it might be Ottawa's favourite material.

.They also like these little lowrise clumps.

11. They're unique at least. Could use some proper trees I think.

.Green is good.

13. It's a garden. My numbering system sort of makes every picture need a comment, so some of these aren't so inspiring.

.Lots of these new houses in Ottawa. I'm not sure if they increase the population density or are just bigger.

.I like this building. Also apparently those blossoms are a sign of a major winter. They weren't lying this year.

16. I think they must have an apartment up those stairs, though maybe it's just weird architecture.

.Much older than it's neighbours.

.Quite the fire escape.

.I like the rooftop patio thing.

.This is probably under construction by now.

.I suppose it protects you from the rain as you go from one building to the other.

.I like hills.

.Lots of these new condo buildings out here.

.Different styles.

.Some older buildings too. Not that much older though.

.Lots of shops, which is nice.

27. . . . Comment. . .

.Nice and glassy.

.This street remains pretty built up for a very long distance, but it hardly ever crosses another busy street.

.They like this bumpy metal stuff these days.

.I really don't understand why.

.Transitway stops are so friendly looking.

.This is another walk. Starting at the Museum of Nature.

.Fire escapes. Love 'em. (Yes, I'm weird.)

.I also like rooftop greenery.

.Multiple levels of it.

.Neo-deco or something. I like it.

.Old government building.

.Fairly short little canyon.

.Why are there balconies? I like it, just confused.

.Dowtown does look nice from this angle.

.So tiny!

.Tunney's Pasture and surroundings.

.More concrete.

.Islands on the river.

.Okay, some of these aren't technically Ottawa, but I was in Ottawa at leas.

.The library on Parliament is the best of Parliament.

.I wish the previous one hadn't burned down.

.I think this is a duplicate.

.There are some nice old buildings in the downtonw. Sadly there's some very not nice things too.

.Very small apartment building.

.An interesting sunken foodcourt thing.

.Another old little apartment building. I hope it has an elevator.

.The museum again from another angle.

.Another trip. There, I included Parliament. I think you have to when you show Ottawa.

.A cute little bridge.

57. The Market. Also shows that one way can be pedestrian friendly.

.It's a really nice area. I wish I visited more.

.There's a few silvery churches around.

.More Market.

.One of Ottawa's nicer buildings.

.Gatineau is growing.

.Big concrete apartment block.

.It's very imposing.

.I should do a photo set of China Town at some point.

.Farm and apartment blocks. Downtown is actually behind me though.

I have more pictures too. A lot more. I don't want to do more than one set a page though so that it doesn't take a month to load.
