Yes the white piece steel doesn't appear to have the flanges of a column, then it must be a beam. If so, maybe will be the very last piece of structural steel to be placed when ready, per a true topping out ceremony?

2wtc is in the wrong place, from this angle it would completely block out 1wtc, which is a great shame because i'ts a classic shot of lower manhattan from here. better perhaps if 2 and 4 wtc could swap places.

You mean 2 and 3 WTC.

Ugh why the hell are the news outlets STILL calling the site "ground zero"? CNN's tagline was "president to tour ground zero"..It's not ground zero anymore people, it is the new world trade center site. Ground zero was when it was still a pile of rubble. When are these news reporters going to stop calling it that?

I agree, it's absolutely ridiculous and inappropriate to call the WTC site Ground Zero.

As I said before. I can't remember if it was on here, or skyscrapercity, I'm very proud to refer to it as the World Trade Center once again. Maybe the "New World Trade Center", and NOT Ground Zero. The term "Ground Zero" can be, Thank God for major favours, a thing of the past.

Yeah I don't get why these snivelling reporters are always calling it "ground zero" Its like they want to keep associating the site with tragedy..Time to move on people. It's called the World Trade Center. As for Obama, I didn't see any news reports of him actually visiting the site. Not sure the big deal tho, since the actual topping out won't be for a few more weeks.

I always found the term "ground zero" offensive. Pearl Harbor was never called "ground zero." I always called it the World Trade Center, and will continue to do so.

An article in the New York Daily News said President Obama and the First Lady arrived just after 6pm. They were expected to tour the site and the tower, sign the topping out beam and meet with union workers. Then they are attending multiple fundraisers in Manhattan.

They're not going to....which is why a while back I made a somewhat risky? suggestion to call the memorial the "Ground Zero Memorial & Museum at the New World Trade Center".

^^ Where it's supposed to be: at ground level. We are still at 104. 105 and parapet are left, then it's T/O (skeleton).
