And like a Trump rally, there is one token black guy centered prominently in the frame, except this one doesn't appear to be a former member of a Miami death cult. On the other hand, unlike a Trump rally, there appears to be plenty of old Jews.

Why do they insist on the street setback though?

^Yeah I don't understand that. I don't understand why the building code isn't fixed to prevent ugly setbacks citywide, but I especially don't understand why people would prefer a strange disrespect of the streetwall.

^Don’t be foolish and inject your politics in this. They’re likely all Leftists in that they have no concept of free market capitalism.

^That is as much a stereotypical assumption as my tongue and cheek joke. And for the record I will enthusiastically acknowledge that my positions or opinions on multiple issues don't line up perfectly with any other citizen just because they choose to support the same left of center candidate or disdain the same right of center one. This should be self evident to a person of any political persuasion.

I would live here. A+ location and modern but classic design. Would be nice to live 2 minutes from the opera.

A $732 million, wow. The market is on a role. 220 CPS is expected to have a massive sell out as well, along with the numerous properties currently rising.

The average condo price sold in the last week averages 2.4 to 2.5 million. Coops, about 1.4-1.5 million. Both being over 210-220 recorded sales, which is not bad when its just a week.

The 1.0 to 3.0 milion range is hot hot hot.

The creme de la creme has to be 600k-1.2 million range. We need more supply of that.

Why? So we can get more of your inane, self-inflating comments to gawk at.

Is that your way of saying you like the weird setback?

Hard to tell from the photos, but what is the material used for the pitched vertical facade elements over the columns? Is it metal, pre-cast concrete, stone, or terra cotta?

Court rules against the 668-foot tower already rising at 200 Amsterdam Avenue

MARCH 15, 2019
BY ALEXANDRA ALEXA

Quote:
A state Supreme Court ruling on Thursday overruled the city’s decision to allow a permit for 200 Amsterdam Avenue, the controversial Upper West Side condo project that has been challenged by community groups and elected officials because of its oddly-shaped, gerrymandered lot. As Crain’s reports, the Board of Standards and Appeals, which approved the project last year, has been ordered to go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate the permit for the project led by developers SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan, who have already started construction at the 69th Street site.
Quote:
“This is a major victory,” said Richard Emery, the attorney for the Municipal Art Society and the Committee for Environmentally Sound Development. “A development site where a developer wants to build can’t just get around the zoning codes.”

As Crain’s notes, SJP and Mitsui didn’t piece together the site themselves, they bought the developed site from its previous owner in 2015. They are likely to appeal the court’s decision.

“We’re going to pursue a temporary restraining order to stop the development,” Emery said. “And we’re going to go to the Dept. of Buildings to revoke their building permits. That’s the next fight.” He added that the goal of the plaintiffs is to limit the tower to roughly its current size, about 17 stories. The developers were planning a 51-story tower.

Imagine how much good these people could do if they used their resources for legitimately productive causes, like prepping the city for rising sea levels, instead of this, f you I got mine, mentality.
