Smart architecture is my favorite.

More people will come around once it's actually visible in reality. For people who don't remember or haven't experienced the original complex, they are in for a treat, as these massive towers will loom overhead, the World Trade Center reborn. The Freedom Tower is fine alone, but together with it's brothers, it will officially be the WTC.

I'm not sure I like this design. Looking at it from across the East River, it almost looks as tho the Twin Towers are restored. From other vantage points, this building doesn't seem to fit in with its surroundings; it looks out of place, more or less...

It would certainly look less "out of place" than the original, regardless of whether that's a positive or a negative.

I think it will grow on me too but I still miss/prefer the Foster design.

It will grow on me too and this new 2wtc has the potential for a outdoor observation deck like the original 2wtc, maybe not a full 360 degree view deck, but a outdoor one nonetheless. We shall see!

Definitely needs more trees all over it. I'd say at least twice as many trees.

This is a great addition to the skyline. I hesitate to say it, but the vertical lines remind me of the twins. Not saying its anything but reminiscent, so keep your "the twins were perfect, so you're stupid etc" arguments away from your keyboard.

I like this tower. Its a massive beast!

And that's what will be alluring about this tower. Its sheer scale and size. Nostalgic of the original trade center.

Some of those renders that NYguy posted looks like there is no cantilevering part anymore. IDK if that is final or not, but I like it a lot better.

It cantilevers only on the north side.

I agree. I loved the design for 50 HY, but this is way better because of the unique seven cantilever. That off-balance look is amazing!!

As noted, if this were proposed for any other city, its residents would be utterly ecstatic .

Yea, I agree. This tower will be very unique & that's why I love the design. A towering gift to the city that is both interesting and unique, curtesy of Bjarke Ingels.
