The atrium is interesting. I'm not liking the exterior details or step backs in the photos. The cornices couldn't be blander, for example. The stone is nice but, it's not everything.

Two new towers started construction in the Calgary suburbs this week…

West 17 – 10 storeys – 35 meters

Alt Hotel University District – 15 storeys – 45 meters

and it looks like this one is really moving ahead. So good to see this next cycle really firing up! We’ve had a good 6 tower starts in the past 4 months, not terrible in this economy!

Redstone – 14 storeys – 44 meters

awesome stuff. I was in Montreal a few weekends ago for the first time in a while - It's exciting to see how much it's changing. Here's hoping it keeps going!

Pouring concrete for the 4th floor of the Hyatt Place Hotel in downtown Moncton. The recently completed Avenir Centre and the federal office complex are in the background.

FiveFive Queen in downtown Moncton - current status.

Two new towers are starting construction at the same intersection in downtown: Guy and René-Lévesque boulevard. QuinzeCent and Appartements Dorchester are both 120 m. and 36 and 35 storeys high.

QuinzeCent

And across the street, Appartements Dorchester, which will be attached to the mid-century Maritime Hotel, converted into student residences.

I'm okay with the looks of both towers.

I'm also extremely happy to see this specific intersection being built up. It looked fringe and sorry for way too long.

Nothing spectacular, but good densification for sure. QinzeCent is by the same team that build YUL on the next block. Curtain wall at the very least, generic but decent quality.

It's not perfect but, compliments to respecting the modernist building as much as they did.
