Except it's more perception (by some people) than reality. There was a time when US wine was considered inferior but slowly people realized that it just wasn't true any more. I suspect that, true to form, Canadians that look down upon Canadian wine won't come around till Americans tell them that it's good/give it the US stamp of approval. The Canadian palette is unrefined, after all, so we're impossible of deciding for ourselves.

Didn't this all happen 30 years ago? No-one talks about this anymore unless they are joking or clueless or uneducated on the matter.

Wine produced in the interior of BC, the Niagara region and Prince Edward County are generally good quality imo. I don’t think I have ever tried an Annapolis Valley wine so I can’t judge. I tried a Quebec wine once a long time ago and it was pretty bad to be honest, but this could have been bad luck. I am sure they make decent wine there as well, at least in Southern Quebec.

I find it difficult to find a great red wine in Quebec. The short growing season leaves a more acidic taste, it seems. However, there are great productions, especially in the Brome-Missisquoi region. For example the fortified red Frontenac from the Val Caudalies estate is exquisite.

Also, you will find many excellent white or grey Frontenacs (this variety seems to work well in QC), vins de paille or vins de glace (ice wines).

So far, I'd say that we have 3 main wine regions in the province : Brome-Missisquoi (southern Montérégie, Dunham), the lower Laurentians (around Oka / Mirabel) and the Orléans / Côte-de-Beaupré area, near Québec.

Yes, I should have restricted my comment to the obvious bits of BC and Ont.

Cell phone coverage in Mexico looks very poor. It’s not like I expected something similar to here but still much worse than I thought.
