Based on the photos I'm seeing on Twitter, some major reconstruction is going to be needed on Highway 1 and 1A out towards Canmore after today. Transcanada is reportedly washed out at Cougar Creek and 1A is out around Exshaw. Plus Highway 40 has numerous mudslides affecting it.

Hwy 2 and HWY 27 interchange upgrades.

Long needed, this is one of the most dangerous spots on Hwy 2.

Hopefully Highway 1 and 22 is up for upgrading soon too. Same problem.

Over the last few years, the province has been systematically removing all of the cloverleaf interchanges along Hwy 2, it will probably come soon.

Now that the Hwy 2 / Hwy 543 interchange is open, how far east is Hwy 543 signed?
GIS Shapefiles from 2013 show the 543 designation ending at a realigned 96 Street East, east of the new Highwood River bridge.
Google Street View imagery from 2012 shows the new road open to traffic, but Hwy 543 is only signed to the west.
Wondering if the extension of the 543 number (vice just the physical road itself) is waiting on the Hwy 2 interchange opening, the roadway being twinned, or what.

Also: Does the new AB2 interchange have a signed exit number?

TIA!
