OOOOHHH!!!! Awesome shots and a very interesting addition to this one. I agree this double height floor adds a touch of interest to the illuminated facade.

I wonder why Trump and his overblown ego haven't pushed his Midwest masterpiece from 96 to 100 floors, the way JHC was pushed from 95 into triple digits.

I like the steel grey color the building takes on overcast days.

Yes, that is the core at the top. This will start rising again very very soon!

hard at work

detail: I don't think anyone pointed this out. maybe, though. anyway, they've finished sealing the parking ramp windows to the main building, and they are continuing to put stainless on the columns

this building is VERY photogenic

they're doing facade work on the river

did anyone mention how shiny trump is? it hurts my eyes sometimes

Way to lose any architectural credibility for failing to recognize a classic Mies . . .

Looking at the photos of construction at ground level, one has to ask the question:

How can they possibly open the hotel portion before the end of the year?

A mix of fear and impotence.

There was a good article explaining this recently. The hotel opening is VERY VERY soft. If I remeber correctly, only about 1/3 of the whole staff will be present and very few rooms will be occupied. Its kind of just like a training camp so the employees get real experience before the hotel OFFICIALLY opens next year (?). The operation will be nowhere near full scale and the entire hotel will not be open.

Soon to be taller than IBM'S. It's about time !!
I have to admit that sooner during the construction I didn't like the building but the higher it gets, the better it is.
I'm still not comfortable with the style though. It look more like an office tower to me.

As I moved south after taking that first picture, the sun was reflecting off the glass so brightly that I had a shadow from it.
