Seems like the red louvres on the south-facing top floor are partially installed. Once all the HVAC equipment is in place, the rest will be finished up.

I also think that the facade is gaudy. I really hate the colors. I'd rather see the glass in SCB blue.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The red adds a splash of color that River North/ Streeterville is completely lacking. Too much grey, tan, lifeless glass. This building makes a huge statement, and I think it should be applauded for doing so. Even though it is blocky, I believe that the fact that it is unique makes it one of the most interesting buildings of this cycle.

I'll agree to disagree then. I cringe when I see this building. I agree that the city needs to add a splash of color, but the way this is implemented is not my favorite, to say the least.

strong, bold, vivid colors in architecture tend to be very love/hate.

they make a statement that's nearly impossible not to take note of.

some people will like the statement and others will not. me? i like it!

I hope Optima 3 is orange like Mercury City in Russia with a black bottom.

Nice effect. Do they own that lot north of Whole Foods, or is the idea of an Optima 3 purely speculative?

Totally speculative. There have been no announcements for any plans for a third Optima building, and the more realistic site would be the one by the NBC tower anyway

^^i was being completly speculative. But I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Mann family is not going to sell the north or south parking lots of NBC to anyone unless it's a joint venture to build his twin art deco buildings that he has had planned since early 2000's. He wants to make a mega complex. With all three buildings connected. I dont think that parking lot north of whole foods is out of reality for the third Optima.
