I was thinking the same. While bland, it is not nearly as offensive as Tower 1.

I was kind of hoping that the West Tower would not look so bad after people move in and start hanging their crap from the balconies, but no. The grayness is still completely overwhelming. The amount of spandrel on that tower is so huge that one cannot tell with a quick glance if it's inhabited or not.

Did someone already move into the office floors at the bottom of the tower? The sports bar is still in the making, I remember...

No the office floors are still for least. Not sure if Aquilini/Canucks are in yet but I would be they are still fitting out.

Here are some long shots again from across False Creek. Imagine it topping out at about three times the height it is now. I think it will be quite prominent from this point of view.

Here's a pic of the south tower with the west tower for comparison.

In the last pic you can see some sewage (?) pipes that have appeared on the underside of the transfer slab. I presume (and hope) that they will be covered up eventually.

This building wouldn't be so drab if they had used less prominent mullions. At least that way the curves of the concrete structure would be more prominent and not overshadowed by the stark straight lines of the mullions.

i cant believe they didn't integrate it into the viaduct. so many possibilities since it is at the perfect height. damn city. i bet the viaducts wont even come down and then people years from now will be saying "well that was stupid of them." even the other tower is integrated into the viaduct, quite nicely to.

I spoke with the project manager a few years ago about tying it into the viaduct. He stated that they were all for it but the city would not allow it. It was no secret staff were already envisioning them coming down way back then.

Wow! Almost as if that entire "study" phase (keeping both until Main, tearing one down and keeping one, etc...) was complete fucking bull shit!

How tall will this tower be? I walk past it daily on my way home from work.

Pretty much the same as the one on the other corner.

In the various model pics and renderings I've seen it looks like 28-29 floors above the big transfer slab. So, a couple more floors and it will be about halfway.

It will be very interesting to see how they build tower #4 (north tower, on the right in metro-one's rendering pic below) over the Skytrain tracks.

I just realized that only a small portion at grade will be enclosed.
It'll give the rest an "elementary school covered patio" feel by the looks of it.
