Note: Some forumers systems are not downloading photos at optimum speed. For this reason there will be fewer same-day update pics per post. Still the same number of pics, but spread out over more posts per page. Hopefully, this will help those who have systems that are not downloading as quickly.

Although only at 265 ft, this will still provide some density. Just from looking at the posted models, Tower 5 should stand out in the skyline from different angles.

Notice the new Zions Bank Tower in the center background. While we haven't created a specific thread for this newly completed project, pehaps we should have. While not representing a 100% new build, it was a very significant redo.

pic by T-Mac

Before pic as the 1960's headquarters for Kennecott Copper. New version as seen below represents a seismic upgrade, a 'complete systems and floorplan gutted' interior, and a brand new exterior reclad. Building is now State of the Art, Class A, and the headquarters for Zions Bank.

Today with a new lease on life.

Looks like Crews are about to set up the Tower crane for Tower 5. Right now there is a base of a Crane right next to it. I can't wait to see this Tower get built.

Agreed Shakman, especially when you consider the beastly low-rise that use to occupy that plot. This represents a huge improvement.

Here's some pics of the section as it is being demolished, that Tower 5 is replacing. Notice, the section to the left before demolition, that is still in place. Forumers called it the black beast. Allot of cheers went up while seeing those ugly facades destroyed.

Woohoooo, Me too Projects. Man, am I glad we have all of these ongoing projects to keep us entertained during this economic slump. I think that by the time these projects start to wind down, we'll be in a better situation nationally and other delayed projects will restart.

Parking lots could open next summer - City Creek project is mostly on schedule

http://deseretnews.com/article/1,514...00000000007967

24/7 fast track continues into the night - Tower 5 site(at bottom right) and surrounding development

Ravell Call, Deseret News
Finding parking in downtown Salt Lake City should get a lot easier when the weather gets warmer.

...parking structures for the $1.5 billion City Creek Center project are on schedule for completion in summer 2009

"We will be starting to complete various elements of the project in 2009, and we'll want the parking to support that...

I notice crews did the same thing to tower 1 awhile back.
