Check out Neighbor Bakehouse next time you're in SF. It's amazing.

You don't even understand the argument.

I am a regular shopper here,

http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/articl...in-5846239.php

which happens to be on the ground floor of Twitter's HQ, in large part BECAUSE they carry Tartine's rustic sourdough loaves ($9.99 per and worth every penny).

I refuse to stand in line at Tartine itself.

But have you tried Josey Baker's product available at The Mill? He is usually voted in the top 1 or 2 sourdough producers in town and I agree with him that a dark bake is best:

http://www.joseybakerbread.com

And I make a mean rustic loaf myself even if I do say so. I love the "no-knead" technique.

No but they look great.

I've tried making sourdough. I do have a "mother" in the fridge. But there's so much advanced planning involved, especially for no-knead bread (and even moreso if you need to revive a starter for a day or two first), that it's more of an occasional project than my daily bread.

Around here I make do with the (quite serviceable) baguettes from Le Pain Quoditien and sourdough loaves from Gail's. They do a San Francisco style and a dark French style (along with a bunch of walnut/quinoa/gluten-free BS). Not quite the real thing, but good enough.

With the Patriots and Eagles in the Super Bowl I wonder if the winning city in the Super Bowl is going to be the one to get HQ2.

Shit. If this whole HQ2 nonsense is in any way, shape, or form football dependent, then chicago is fucked.

It's the one thing that Amazon can't deliver.

My guess is that HQ goes to the DC area. The only evidence I need is the 3 sites around DC that they kept active

I just read an article that said the market research firm--GBH Insights--has narrowed it down to a top 5.

1)Atlanta
2)Raleigh
3)Washington
4)Boston
5)Austin

No surprises here.

My brother lives in Seattle and uses it all the time - for Christmas we even got our prime rib from them.

Well in the Amazon news today Maryland is upping its offer to 5 Billion dollars now.

“HQ2 is the single greatest economic development opportunity in a generation, and we’re committing all of the resources we have to bring it home to Maryland,” Hogan said in a statement obtained by The Post on Sunday.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local...=.87044cc42d17

so Maryland is giving Amazon more than Amazon plans to spend to build out.

Wait for more crazyness
