It doesn't, unless Metro puts its foot down and funds the public transportation with higher taxes/ grants. Too many people have the "public transportation is for poor black people" attitude. Word.

I remain optimistic about BRT even though it wasn't my first choice. The corridor choice and length is on point. I think the success of the East-West Connector will depend on how well it's done and how its presented to the public. What I would really like to see is a world-class line that's done so well people don't care about the fact that it is a gussied-up bus. I think Mayor Dean probably didn't want to push LRT since the Music City Center was already such a massive undertaking under his tenure.

Tower crane is up for Vanderbilt's Kissam Hall development with the likelihood of another on the way.

Tower crane base should be set up this week for Hyatt Place in SoBro.

Per another website, Park 25's foundation permit has been pulled from Metro and work should start shortly on that. I expect another tower crane to rise with this one.

I'm thinking it will be about the same, but if its taller, it won't be more than 400'-405'.

I like both. I like the tall sleekness of the older one and also its base looks more "active." I do like the curvy-ness of the new rendering.

One thing for sure is that the second design will make the SoBro area feel more dense, but with the Hyatt, Omni, Pinnacle, Encore, and hopefully the SoBro tower, the neighborhood is already on its way to having an awesome street life.

Crane for Kissam Hall, with a smaller mobile crane on site as well. I believe another tower crane could pop up as the site is pretty large and they're still heavily excavating the east end of the plot.

This is definitely one of the wierdest proposals ever. Travis Kelty, a local commercial broker, is saying that this 32 story building called "Strings" will become the most iconic building in Nashville. Another important thing is that a site hasn't been determined yet, but Kelty says that he is focusing on the downtown core, and is willing to put up millions for a site.

I'm not sure quite how I feel about this yet, but I'm probably on the less optimistic side. The rendering looks pretty hideous, almost as if they sketched it on a napkin, and it seems kind of corny, but it could turn out to be a major tourist attraction one day, who knows?
