Philly is so badass that you've got the giants so close to neighborhoods... (stating the obvious for most of y'all... but it's )...
Cherry Street Tavern is a favorite, I admit.

What's being built up here? This is the base of the Four Seasons section, if that isn't clear. (View from Ralph's)

Looks sort of like the pull through awning at a Hampton Inn. Maybe the hotel is so exclusive your chauffeured Tahoe must be airlifted to the check in desk.

I had my reservations on this one when I first saw the glass going up a while back, but I take them back. This building is turning out to be a great one. Congrats on your first Supertall, Philly! First of many more?

I thought the south side were the terraces for the 3 condos that Brian Roberts bought.

Here's hoping! We have two more projected for the 30th Street area, but we're not expecting to see them built any time soon.

Porte Cochere is what that is called. This is likey architecture related to the terraces on that level. I'm sure they need to be strong steel because of winds.

More progress on the assembly of the cooling tower. Looks very substantial for the added height to the building.

Could I suggest something?

It's been ages since there's been an official meetup of Philly forumers (a lot of you youngsters weren't around during the heady early 2000s).

Who would be amenable to having one to celebrate the topping off of our city's first supertall?

I've sent a couple of emails to NBC10 about the web cam being down and haven't gotten a response in return...so much for service. Thanks to all those posting daily pics though!

We should. And down the road we should do an event AT said supertall at the lobby bar.......

According to post #5926 on page 297 of this thread, the next set of steel was coming up beginning on June 30th, which, if I recall correctly, we established will mean that this building not only passes the first Comcast Center, but also becomes the first supertall in Philadelphia.

Holy I beams , Bat Man .
That's not a bad idea . I remember when you were monitor and Brad Maule was shooting construction pictures of the Comcast tower .
Unfortunately for me , I'm old enough to remember when the Rouse towers were nothing more than a sketch up in the Inky and Blue
Cross twin towers were a passing thought .

I enjoyed reading your posts and looked forward to your input about almost everything . It would be great to break some " Tweenies "
away from their cell phones long enough to avoid being struck down by progress and maybe discover the foundation of skyscrapers in
Philly .

But alas , ere , I am too old and weak to mount my once mighty steed to provoke the rebuttal of those much too set in their own dim light .

So forgive my absents but please bring your years of knowledge to the forefront and tell them well .......

Driving down the Schuylkill today, I noticed they finally removed all of the blue seran wrap stuff that was covering the bracing. It looks really nice when the Sun hits it at the right angle.
