TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QC (Three-Rivers)

In response of a topic with gritty pictures of my hometown, i decided to post some pics of the nicer areas of Trois-Rivières (Three-Rivers) Québec!

I have so many of them and they are on my website from 2004 to 2006, do I will post just a few random ones here! enjoy

The skyline

The cathedral, one of the few buildings that survived the great fire of 1908

It's now all nice though...

The St-Maurice river running trough the middle of the city

The Notre-Dame Sanctuary, the pope went there in 1984, under a pouring rain!

The riverside park and the Laviolette Bridge

The local fair

Local highrise

Karting competition organised at the riverside park

Suburbs

Skyline

Nice houses just outside downtown

Pictures taken from the rooftop

----------------------> scroll

The bridge

The first "skyscraper" in town

Main street

Oldest building, c. 1672

St-Quentin island park, in the middle of the river

scroll ------------------->

Old quarter, they removed the wires since then

I think it's enough now

thanks for watching

Typical of old towns along the St-Laurent river... The further you go inland, the less of this architecture you see, it turns out to be more "north american".

Actually, T-R's architecture is said to be pretty north-american, since pretty much all french-style buildings were destroyed in the 1908 fire.

These are typical Quebec 1700-1800 houses. You will find a lot of these house in the St. Lawrence valley.

I've never stopped in T-R, only driven through. I think I should check it out one of these days.
