Lovely place - especially the blue sky. When is the best time of year to visit without the rain?

Nice to see the city in the summer. I was there in feb and it was cold and damp. I think the famous bosch painting, garden of earthly delights is in Brugge. The city also has some great beers.

With my father working in Brussels, I am hoping to visit both in 2012.

Spring (may, june) and early autumn (september, october) are the best choices.

But it could be rainy throughout the year and sunny too. Last year it was like summer in april (warm and sunny), chilly and wet in august and pretty sunny and comfortable untill november. At this moment it's very sunny, but you'll be frozen after one hour outside: finally winter!

Of course, if you visit Belgium in summer, you can visit a pop/rock/dance/jazz/folk/bluesfestival every day in almost every place. So that's a bonus.

Western Flanders definitely has a very unpredictable weather, but in general I would agree that July and August have a higher precipitation than May and June. Nevertheless it is advisable to have an umbrella ready at all times.

Wonderful place and wonderful shots, R@ptor!

Thanks for sharing. I´ve never been in Bruges, but now I´m wishing to visit it. It looks really amazing.

Congratulations and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Bruges is a very cool city. It looks like it hasn't changed much since 1987 when I was last there! Of course it probably looks much the same as it did a couple of centuries ago!

Well, it changed in the outskirts, but of course the city center remains intact. The entire inner city is UNESCO World Heritage anyway.

Very nice pics and city. I love places which have waterways/canals. Glad you got the pics during the beautiful weather too. Gotta say this one kind of frightened me though:

Thanks for the tour R@ptor.
