Also, it was built all at once as one structure, yet it made to look like many buildings with different facades, built over a period of time. So in that regard, it is completely fake- so DestroyCreate's amusement park comparison is an apt one.

The problem is not unique- just go to the Grove, the Americana, or any suburban new urbanist development. When you're trying to make something appear that it was built in a way that it wasn't, it is by its very nature inauthentic.

Really fantastic set. I love the wide angles and the views from a slight height--I always wish I had a watchtower to carry with me around LA... you really get a very different perspective on the city from just a few stories up.

We share a love for the bright! Really enjoy that you took so many pictures in bright sunlight, makes the most of LA's bright and flat facades.

Very well done. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Actually, the Via Rodeo shopping center was built around 1990. It has a parking lot underneath.

Prior to that, that corner was a surface parking lot, with maybe a small building at one end; it may have been a car rental place, if I remember correctly.

Wow!! What a great collection of shots. I have never been to Los Angeles but I plan on visiting next year sometime. L.A. seems to be a lot of different things to different people. He have meet people from L.A. that say its full of Gangs and Crime & Violence and I have met people who consider it a great place to live, work and play.

I adore this craftsman bungalow. If I ever own a standalone house as opposed to a condo or townhouse, I hope it's a craftsman bungalow very much like you see here!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but...

Those Pics of Pershing Square in the Rain baffle me. Were they by chance taken on a weekend or holiday? It's so empty! I almost expect Charleton Heston to come screaming around the corner in a convertible shooting at the windows of the surrounding buildings lol. That place, Hill st between 6th and 5th is always packed full of people shuffling about. It's a really incredible shot, erie! But beautiful like all the rest.

IMO, Los Angeles (even more than New York) truly epitomizes the essence of diversity. The people, the cultures, the languages, the neighborhoods, the cuisine, the art, the architecture, the climate...everything about Los Angeles is truly diverse.

Nice pictures. Where is that storybook house? Also, where are those Victorian houses? Is that Angeleno Heights?

I like that freeway entrance picture, for some reason. The palm trees, the lush plant life next to the curb, and the "romantic" image of the freeway all make it seem like a perfect picture of California, and the greenery makes that onramp seem kind of nicer. Trees and plants make everything better, it seems.
