The SOM design made for a great rendering, but that thing would look scary in real life. Reminds me of an alien stronghold from a sci-fi movie. Just imagine walking around Lower Haight, Sutter st, the Marina green and seeing that that building. It would dominate the skyline in a way thats similar to the towers of Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The Pelli design is subtle and charismatic. The obelisk crown will be a very nice touch and look like a beacon of light from all directions. Just walking around 1st and Mission, it's clear that the details of the tower are beautiful.

Now that I shamelessly dumped my opinion on all of you, can anyone guess how tall it is now? 970 ft?

Is it just me or does it look like that building just to the left of SFT is tilting a bit to the right?

There also appears to be a large orange fireball on some of the upper floors.

It's you because it's actually tilting the other way!

So this will officially not be the tallest tower in the West after all.

You were holding out for the possibility that they might sneak in a few more floors? I was too. It’s the year of disappointments.

San Francisco high rise development can hardly be called a disappointment this year. In fact, just the opposite. Quantity and quality.
And more on the near horizon. Cheer up bruh.

[QUOTE=botoxic;7623824]Topping out party

Have they finished topping out the core yet? The climbing forms are still up there. I believe the real topping out at 1070' won't occur until next March?
