Hyatt at the Bellevue building - Philadelphia

Paris Skyline?? Nope! It's The Bellevue in Philly! "The Bellevue" is now the name of the mixed use building (offices/hotel rooms/restaurants). The hotel portion (Floors 12-18) are known as "Hyatt at the Bellevue". The original name of the building was The Bellevue-Stratford Hotel and was marketed

Street level is amazing too!

Why does this building rule?

1.) The detailing and design, of course is absolutely intense.

2.) It's gorgeous from street level, all the way up the sides and the top is incredible as well.

3.) The size. This thing is ENORMOUS!

4.) Can anybody call themselves a fan of architecture and/or highrise buildings and not appreciate if not downright love this building? I believe that you cannot.

Stats:

Height (roof) - 273 ft
Floors (above ground) - 19
Built between 1902-1904 (Was originally only 3 stories. In 1912 was taken from 3 stories to it's full 19 for an added cost of $850k)
Style -French Renaissance
Original number of bedrooms - 1,090
Cost - $8 million

Renovations since built:
1978 for $25 million
1986 for $100 million (Floors 2-11 were converted into office space)

*The Bellevue-Stratford Hotel as well as The Waldorf and Astoria Hotels in New York were operating under the management of George Boldt. Also, google Boldt Castle to see his amazing home!

*Listed on National Register of Historic Places
