That nettlesome drop-off north of the CBD remains for the foreseeable future, but other than that, barring a real estate collapse or severe diminution, it'll be a sea of highrises almost all the way up to the Lake Iroquois shoreline. The clusters at Y&E, Humber Shores, NYCC, Fairview Mall, and Scarborough will get increasingly impressive as well. Not to mention the Mississauga wasteland, which will continue to leave some tyro arrivals at Pearson a tad confused ("Is that Toronto?").

With Stantec and the plans for the future, I think it will come together nicely and bring them into the game with the rest of Canada (hold Toronto, as TO is heading into a total new territory).
Currently (including u/c) something like 18 to 2 in favour of Calgary on the 500 ft + skyscraper front so plenty of catching up still to do for Edmonton. However, in a broader North American context, Edmonton is very impressive.

It's weird how one project can totally transform the whole heft of a city, good choice Edmonton!

Yes it's quite startling how much two tall towers completely change the feel of a skyline.

I don't see a Minneapolis comparison here.

Edmonton / Minneapolis

That's a bad angle of skyline for Minneapolis , from the south or east it is a much taller looking skyline with 10 or 11 towers about or well over 500 feet , none the less Edmonton is getting impressive North America wise for 1.3 million

Still not seeing a connection other then being on a river. Minneapolis has a a much more diverse skyline.

This entire website is dedicated to skyscrapers and you made a comparison between two cities. If we didn't overanalyze skylines and built forms I don't know what we'd do.

So true.

Edmonton's skyline is unquestionably improving dramatically though, no argument there.
