I wish the Guardians and Arriva weren't spoiling the view.

I don't mind the Guardians except their stupid roofs. Arriva is fairly meh, but definitely above average for Alberta... which is a terribly depressing realization.

So the second crane (Yellow) that was added, is going to be the main crane (yellow), that will climb the outside of the tower. The Mega Crane (black) will be taken down when the building reaches the 5th level up, as it was brought in the carry the steal support for the podium levels without disrupting traffic with road closures.

CIBC is turning out very nice. If only it were one tower instead of twins.

That's good to know. I had the pleasure of being able to access One Bloor so I had to snap a quick photo of the construction site next door.

What a fab photo... hinting already at a spectacular play of light.

Given it appears that every angle of every "diamond" is also being wired for night lighting... something special in the night on it's way.

One of the best parts of the project is the rail deck park which wouldn't exist if the site was only one tower on that side of the tracks. I'll take twins when they work with each other in such a way, and aren't just a GFA-maximizing strategy like with most condos.

Now I would prefer if the North tower were at least 10 floors taller so they weren't identical twins and created a step-down effect towards the lake.

Had the chance to check out CIBC Square last night. Its looking good. A development worthy of being in the top 10. Of course wish it was taller, but it will add a lot to Southcore and Union Station.

Another 100ft would def be perfection haha! But..... 780-790ft is still the tallest office tower to be built in TO in like 25 years+ , so its worth celebrating.

In fact CIBC Square will be the 3rd tallest office tower to be built in Canada in the past 25 years after Stantec in Edmonton (817ft) and Brookfield Place in Calgary (810ft).

No one would call Stantec an office tower. The office building is only 30 floors. Above that is the Sky Residences building.

Fair enough, I would agree. I wasn't sure the split on how much was office VS residential.

It be interesting to see separate lists for the tallest office/residential; tallest office/hotel; tallest hotel/residential; tallest all three.
