I agree yokohama's is the best resto in d/t....close runner up is la concuistadora (sp?) the little mexican resto on king george....good food good prices very filling!!

Nice new place is Nahm thai bistro located in the new building behind seven eleven....went to eat there the other day and food was good, reasonable decor, and its the most modern looking resto in the area give it a try i reccomend it

Compare to the render on the first page - a couple of towers are missing -
but at least there are still two towers - but they don't seem to have the corner site.

The 2 is the second half of the project, which proposes 3-4 towers (see the picture above).

Even after it's completely built out... I don't see how it will look like Yaletown... even in the renders.

^ I felt like gouging my eyes out when I read that. Every random suburban development thinks it's going to be "the next Yaletown". Just like every waterfront development is "the last chance to own waterfont in Vancouver".

The fourth and final building of Quattro (at 108 and 138) is now being marketed (10 years later), and with a new name.

http://venuelife.ca/

Interesting site and marketing angle considering Surrey just dubbed this area as the City Centre's Historic District. Really playing that up and selling the area as cool and set for revitalization. The history section and timeline are well done for a condo website.

Planning report from 2007 here:

So are the other three being renamed Tre?

Interesting that they're orienting it differently than the Quattro render.

Love the hipster doofus on the web site.

They are basing the historic designation on the area's roots as Whalleys Corner, a gas stop on route between New Westminster and the US border dating back to the 1930's when the Patullo Bridge was completed. Even though the gas stop doesnt exist anymore, it is the original area where Surrey began to develop. Aside from this there are a few mid-century buildings in the area lending to the historic designation, the 1950's flamingo hotel, and neon-signed Round-Up Cafe, and Rickshaw Chinese Food.

While not all that significant, it's good that they are recognizing this history and embracing what little there is. At least there is a vision for the area, and it will turn around despite the negative views of pessimists. If Hastings can revitalize, so can Whalley.

Those units are hilariously small. Are there really that many people out there who are aspiring to own an 825 Sq. Ft. 2 Bedroom and Den in kind of an odd location in Surrey? That's the largest unit.

It's still 700m from a skytrain in a not particularly pedestrian friendly area. Surrey's future SROs?
