Our construction is still overwhelmingly certain neighborhoods and certain types of units (not many large apartments, no condos, etc.). Subsectors might overbuild but other subsectors seem to be gearing up, or potentially gearing up.

I only know of 1 apartment complex being built in Snohomish County, outside of a few smallish complexes in downtown Everett.

Yes, you're right...........this mothballed office development is back on.......unfortunately, I can't find a rendering for it:

I was commenting on residential. Many residential infill types look like they're recovering despite being inactive currently.

Thanks for the updates Vashon! I feel like I'm learning a little about construction, looking at your photos.

How tall is that data center going to be?
Also, do they seem to be having water control issues at Stadium Place?

The data center is just a few stories on top of the remaining portion of the garage. I'd guess that it has to stay close to the weight of the floors they demolished, with minimal ability to expand footings.

Two more SLU office buildings proposed

Walsh Construction and Vulcan Real Estate have applied to put up office buildings at the periphery of Amazon's new 1.7 million-square-foot headquarters complex.

Hedreen deals could put high-rises on Greyhound block


Seattle developer R.C. Hedreen, which already owns most of the downtown block dominated by the aging Greyhound bus station, is buying the remainder of the block and plans to apply for permits for a high-rise hotel and office complex

Yes, long planned and finally back. The current wave is all in the 24-story range and shorter, so this will (actually might *) be the first fairly tall one in this wave. About 360 units and 260 parking spaces. Small site only a little bit larger than the tower floorplates. Part of a growing residential/hotel cluster just east of the main Retail Core.

* Phase 1 of the Insignia Condos at 5th & Battery was also leaked/rumored to be starting around this month at the same 40-story, 440' height. This would be the first condo in a long time, made possible by in-house financing and not preselling, meaning they can get 2014/5 prices rather than 2012 prices, or inactivity.

Downtown Seattle condos are finally filling up

The glut of condos that hit downtown Seattle right during the real-estate downturn is disappearing as buyers move back into the market.
