Amazing pic of the restaurant. But won't One Manhattan West block the view of ESB?

It should block some of it.

Big enough to eat the Coach Tower.

^ That's an amazing picture. Nice that 432 Park will soon have some friends to hang out with up there.

The foreground is ripe for towers. I'd like to see that rubbish demo'd and get a nice waterfront skyline going. Meanwhile, there is a party of cranes in the skyline in every direction. Even among the forest of skyscrapers, it can be deceiving, but they are there!

This portion of the Queens waterfront is currently being rezoned. ConEd owns many of those specific waterfront lots. They were left out of the original LIC rezoning, but now, apparently, ConEd doesn't need all the land.

Appears to have past 10 Hudson in height.

Still has essentially another 400 ft to go.

This has a massive presence on 1-7 going toward Jersey City/Hoboken before the 139 split.

Yes, as I was staring at the building yesterday, it was clearly obvious that this is the tallest building in the Hudson Yards.

It makes me giddy to realize how immense Stage One of this entire project already is.

We ain't seen jack yet...in at least three sections of Midtown alone...

Yeah Phase II to look forward too. Plus all the surrounding parcels not on the yards that will rise within the next year.

Phase II towers obviously not set in stone, but an idea of how much remains.

All that *is* for sure is:

A. We have a crazy heap ton of stuff to look ahead to with Phase II

B. By this time next year, even City risedents who take their surroundings for granted are gonna do some serious double-takes at the newcomers.

This *is* like the '30's race to the clouds; but now we're getting closer to the stratosphere than ever before.

I'm assuming those towers for Phase II are placeholders. I don't like the angular proportions on the tallest one. And some diversity in facade material would be nice, too.

I digress....

You don't need diversity in materials, you just need something that is special and decent for each plot.

I hope that Stern doesn't pollute the area with another one of his PoMo "art-deco" towers in the name of "diversity". This is NOT the area to put it in. This is a modern/neo-modernist area of NYC and a faux-historic just would be jarring. For this area I want progressive avant-garde designs not lazy references to the past. If that "starchitect" designs another one of his cut and paste jobs here it will be a shame. These sites deserve good design. An example of tyhe tyupe of designs I want to see on HY: The angular beauty going up in San Fran or the twisting tower going up in London.
