This building is turning out awesome facade subcontractor issues be damned!

Thanks for the shots today Bonobo!

It seems as though the core is now topped out. The forms are being dismantled today.

^ Yup! It topped out a few days ago at least. Half sad half awesome.

Thanks for all the pics bono

I love how gems team has fully completed the structure and facade of an entire 14 story high-school, even with a 3 week gap during which they weren't being paid, all before the vista team could figure out how to build a recessed balcony

Most buildings look better in the sun, but I feel Vista looks better on cloudy days. You can really see the gradient of the glass. Brightens up a cloudy day!

I would like if the school or Vista hired an artist for the black wall!

Grabbed a shot while walking home the other night on the Michigan Ave bridge. I really wish they were allowed to light up the blowthrough floor, it would be a new Chicago icon at night like the Sears Tower antennas or John Hancock strip.

And one from my living room right now. The new GEMS building looks great too.

I wish they would just continue blue cladding all the way down to gems, or a vertical wall garden.

I know LSE gets a lot of crap, but it is very dense and fun to walkthrough. With Vista activated it should only get better.

vista's riverwalk link is going to completely transform the park in a fantastic way (people who live in those townhouses may disagree with me). and with those empty plots, will remain a great spot for us construction fans for years to come

LSE is always going to be quiet and on the “edge of town” so to speak. Like Tudor City on the far east side of Midtown (rather than Hudson Yards with its massive office buildings). There just isn’t enough over there to pull people through it - no train station, etc. Even Navy Pier is on the other side of the River, and even that’s just tourists.

not bad... it looks a lot taller than the stated height.

Really? I guess it depends on the angle, but it definitely looks tall in any case. It's not like a near 1,200 foot building, with no vanity height shouldn't look really tall.

Upon completion it may still make top 50 (or almost) globally in roof height looking at the current world U/C diagrams
