Pfft! I doubt that you read the News. One of Nolan Finley's unhinged, illogical, and mean-spirited editorials against Detroit would cause your liberal head to explode. Sometimes I quit midway through his writing thinking Michigan /= Alabama/Mississippi/tea-baggerland

Found out on Wednesday that I lost my job of 5 years. They were downsizing. Where have I heard that before. At 46 I'm not exactly happy about looking for a new line of work but I don't have a choice. I have a few leads including a position with Duke Realty. Wish me luck!

There are dozens of possibilities. I don't want to just pick anything though. Push comes to shove I'll clean toilets if I have to until the right job comes along. I want to make sure I have something lined up before Christmas for sure.

Did anyone see the article where Frank Ghery basically trashes Dubia?

That sucks, Moby, I'm sorry to hear. Best of luck, hopefully Indy's job market isn't as bad as elsewhere in the country.

Thanks Man. It's a lot of hand-wringing and waiting when you apply for jobs. It's not easy.

I feel for you moby. I went through the same sort of thing when I was about your age. Not easy, but you seem like a positive attitude guy, so I'm sure the right kind of job will eventually come along for you.

Don't forget, even though we're a bunch of knuckleheads, there's a ton of support on this forum.

Thanks guys. I filed for unemployment. I was optimistic at first but after several resumes sent and applications filled my phone has been silent. Push comes to shove I will cash out my 401k as a last resort.

I know those feels. I didn't get a reply from anywhere I applied to; got my current job through a March of Dimes programme. They only want to hire people who already have a job.

At some point, Kevin From Texas surpassed me in post count. Congratulations, Mr. From Texas!

^Understaffed in my department and since it's retail (distribution center/home office) it's been Christmas since June. The physical pain is something I'm almost used to but the workload is insane.....plus, my supervisor is a shrill, know-it-all viper sow.

I'm sure that you are handsomely rewarded for your incredible productivity

Welcome to corporate America where one person can do the work of 2.7 workers twenty years ago. Yet, it's the same old nasty, over-sized, peppermint candy-cane for Christmas.

Yep. I'm not very productive when I'm doing so many tasks that everything is done half-assed just to get it done. I always want to do a great job when I'm responsible for it but that's not happening. It's also pretty awful when I think of what I make when I see the mark up on their merchandise.

.....and last Christmas they didn't give me an over-sized candy cane, it was a set of coasters.

Oh, that was good. The image I'm seeing is of a more nimble cow with fangs.

Hardly nimble.....more lumbering. She's almost a cartoon, an absolute sit-com stereotype. It would be funny if I wasn't involved.
