I'm with the both of you now. I shouldn't have posted last night. It was a long day and I was obviously too tired to be on here. I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea last night. No alcohol was involved in the decision making.

I think it would be kind of a cool idea honestly. Something like that doesnt exist around here and would probably be an interesting attraction without adding too much to construction costs. I know I'd take a stand on it

Agreed, I don't think you should apologize. If that was put in there I am sure it would be covered with 5-6-7-8 year old readers all day who wanted to freak their parents and grandparents right out.

It's what my daughter did 3 years ago in Toronto in the CN Tower, and I am not afraid of heights, but that did freak me the heck out, watching her do it.

Having a glass floor panel sounds like a good idea, however, I personally wouldn't walk on it. I think that standing on a glass panel 4 storeys up would be just as terrifying as standing on one 100 storeys up. Either way, if it gives out then the person standing on it is probably a goner.

Yes, exactly. You can see so much more from higher up. Maybe there should be a glass-floored overhanging piece on the new Cunard Block buildings. It would be fun to watch ships go by from above.

I have a great picture from the Oriental Pearl Tower of me laying on the glass floor posing like I am falling through the air (which is exactly what the photo looks like). I admit the 1st step onto felt pretty odd, but you got used to it quick.

The chances of the glass floor going out are about the same as the chances of any material floor just randomly falling out.

I am sure that is true, but with a concrete floor you can't see how far you can fall. It is similar to climbing a high ladder, it isn't very frightening until you look down. When I climb a 25 foot ladder (a couple times a year), I just keep looking up.

At least part of the crane is going up today, there doesn't appear to be enough pieces on site for the entire crane, unless more arrive soon. They have a powerful mobile crane doing the lifting so it would be hard to imagine they would bring this in just for the base.

I have been checking the webcam for this and the airport hotel and it looks like the tower cranes will go up for both tomorrow, each sites having large mobile cranes set up this afternoon.
