How's the Macleod bridge over 22X looking? Any signs of being done soon?

Nice Rocky Mountain vistas on the overpasses. I kept it down to close to 100, but I didn't see any police. I was wondering if Foothills Industrial traffic is going to see rush hour heading east instead of west? Now Glenmore E. needs a major upgrade.
I saw a woman on a cell phone get caught at Shawnessy and Macleod.

I really love the colour of the walls, by far my favorite part of the project. Curious to see how long the paint ("sealer" or something I think it said in schedule 18?) lasts and how fast the repair process is when somebody hits the wall. I'll be legitimately annoyed if somebody hits the 114 Ave walls, they are gorgeous.

We'll I'm going to finally check it out this morning. Have a meeting in crossfield, so I'm going to cut across Anderson/deer foot/114 and take it around the east side. Curious to see how busy it is

Still on temporary signal lights, but the widening is functional and in service.

I didn't notice if they installed permanent foundations for the new signals and haven't seen anyone on site for the two days that I have been back from Phoenix.

Thanks. After 2 mornings now, I think there might be a tad less volume on Deerfoot at McKnight around 8 am. Can't say for sure yet.

I know there is significantly more volume on Stoney in the mornings - especially noticable between 16th Ave and 17th Ave.

Just curious if anybody knows if a different standard of street lighting was used on this portion of Stoney Trail?? Flying into Calgary at night, you can see that there is a huge amount of light pollution being generated from the street lights on the new section of Stoney. Compare this to the lights on Deerfoot Trail or the NW portion or Stoney which primarily cast their light down on the ground and you can really notice a difference. I know there was a big push by the City of Calgary a few years back to combat light pollution and switch to a different style of street light. Has this initiative gone by the way-side or is Stoney Trail an exception to the rule because it's a Provincial road and there for does not have to conform to City of Calgary standards?

^^ Completely different style of lights. Deerfoot uses a lot of High-mast lighting that have reflectors on them to direct the light down.

The light pollution is regrettable, but Stoney is lit so much better than Deerfoot it's not even funny. Massively safer. Not to mention a good 20% of the lights on Deerfoot are burned out.

Getting this deal signed was one of the biggest obstacles to overcome... Glad it's done now and it appears there isn't any lingering animosity between the parties

What's the timeline for the feds to give the green light? IIRC it could take up to 2 or 3 years? I'd like to think that with 3/4 of the road already done that this won't take particularly long

This has to go through a CEAA assessment. 24 months minimum.
