They still need to work on the defense.
Will they still try to trade for Tyson Barrie?
Chiarelli said in this PM's presser that they are out on Demers.
Gryba not re-signed yet.
Fayne is whipping himself into tip-top shape, according to his agent.
They re-signed Mark Fraser but Lord knows why.

Oilers prospect Ethan Bear looks like a blueline steal from the 2015 NHL draft http://ow.ly/XDmq301SeyR

Interesting lineup differences from April 2015 to now, only 7 players are the same.

Del McPreston on HF Boards.

Draisaitl and Nurse were drafted by MacTavish and the Oilers won the draft lottery while MacTavish was GM. So 10 players are "hold overs".

Secondly, if you look at the roster when MacTavish took over from Tambalini and compare it to April 2015, he had turned it over to the same degree Chiarelli has.

In other words change for the sake of change doesn't necessarily result in wins. Only time will tell if Chiarelli has made the appropriate changes.

Dam right it is. Also fumbles happen..its part of the game. But when you fumble and you are not protecting the ball...come on! You learn this in Pee Wee football.

Was just at State and Main on Jasper Ave. Saw a couple tables full of Eskimos including Mike Reilly. I ordered the team a round of beers. But are server couldn't figure out how to put lip stick on. 30 min later still no drinks for the boys or my bill. Real bad service. Slow and inattentive. kinda like our defense last night

Ouch. This is a big disappointment for me. CFR leaving YEG for Saskatoon.

Unfortunate, but the offer (as far as I understood it) was very healthy.

Bad for the CFR in my opinion, hopefully the OEG can make the PBR events into something on par or better than what we had in the CFR.

The Rodeo Cowboys' hired gun talked himself (and by extension the CFR) into a corner.

Hopefully they do well in S'toon, but agree that they've made a mistake.

You think so? Maybe CFR will end up like the Rush... something that has a hard time building a critical mass of interest in a larger market but which might do really well in the spotlight of a smaller city.

Probably a great move for CFR, this city just did not show the support for the event. Too bad, Edmonton does not need to lose events like this

Attendance wasn't a problem here, nor prize money really - even the hired gun said so. Their issue was control of the production, which OEG wanted a slice of.

The mistake, I think, will be in sponsorship. Smaller market will equal smaller deals possibly.

That and availability of hotel rooms will also be less in S'toon. Too, OEG was planning to partner CFR with another event - which it plans to run anyway, meaning competition that hasn't previously existed.

But, as said, I hope it works out for them despite my non-cheery predictions.

Ultimately they didn't want to deal with the OEG, which is a bit of a theme as of late. Hopefully that doesn't continue

But the lack of support for Cfr in this city was obvious. We'll see how a lesser event of the same type fares

The OEG part is indeed a recurring theme.

But S'toon will have to pull in some pretty big numbers to beat Edmonton:

Which makes me wonder, will S'toon have a version of Farm Fair?
