From that angle it sorta looks like the Trump Tower in Chicago.

Nice looking tower. Now it needs some good neighbors.

Amazing! A tower that can do sleek, powerful and stately one minute...

i actually agree! those leds look cool in this building, but get those spotlights off this building! they're hideous! and i imagine they're extremely annoying to residential skyscrapers!

btw, moving this to the completed section in a few days. then we can start another thread in the Building & Architecture section.

I'm sure this has been said before, but it looks exactly like the Trump Tower in Chicago.

Well, it is the same architect. Why he chose to do his less bland design in Nanjing instead of Chicago remains a mystery though.

It also reminds me of Foster's Commertzbank in Frankfurt.

Tump Tower is not bland at all. It is sleek and relates to its surrounding buildings very well. This building however, is like someone took a Honda Accord and put flames and a giant wing on it. These are not improvements. Oh well, China's skyscraper designs are often immature.

My post said 'less bland'. Having seen both towers in person, and Greenland Plaza is definitely more spectacular and jaw-dropping. Their general appearances are very similar though.

As for the rest of your post-- I think you need to get over your complex against China.

The Trump Tower definitely pales in comparison to this building, it's incredibly bland and clunky when viewed from some angles, and very graceful from others. Like someone stated earlier, this is what the Trump Tower should have looked like.

Either way, both towers are attractive in their own ways. Go Nanjing!

I absolutely hate this building for all the wrong reasons. It's beautiful, slick, and truly futuristic, and I wish a North American city could get away with it.

A lovely skyline will complement its style for decades to come. I'm sure.

It looks like a messier version of Trump Chicago.
