This worked great, thanks so much! I never knew there was a convenient way of doing this through Imgur.

Over the last week or so, there have been crews on the roof of Peachtree Lofts (northwest of 7th and P'tree) installing these things:

At the time of this writing, these things are on the NE, SE and SW corners of the building, but not (yet) on the NW. There are also new electrical boxes (or something that looks like that) on the roof, which is clear because they are clearly-painted and haven't been storm damaged like everything else on the roof.

Are these some sort of cellular or radio transmitters? Is it possible they gearing up to take down that ugly huge antenna on Cypress?

Aderhold_, a reddit user and local crane operator had this to say:

“Opus is supposed to be a 53 story and I’ve heard rumors of a 70 story. So there should be a few more tall ones added to the skyline soon.”

Those are cell antennas. I looked at the cell tower on Google Maps that is behind this building, and it appears that tower does not have that many antennae on it, so perhaps they are moving the equipment to the top of that building and plan on selling that land. I bet that is good income for the loft building. I think this may coincide with the speculation that that whole block is up for redevelopment.

As for the GWCC street improvements, I'm glad they are building a bus terminal there- it seems like a good location for it. Perhaps years from now, if demand warrants, they can build a shelter for people to wait in. I wonder what bus lines would use this terminal?

I am realllllly hoping we see something come out of this block! Would we great for the area. Offices and condos in the development would be ideal.

With the soil sampling going on at the other end of the property very recently, it's hard to not be thinking of the possibilities.

Chinese developer making big investments in Atlanta

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...tments-in.html

Quote:
In Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, it has permits for residential projects including a mid-rise condo development at 525 Parkway Drive, said Chief Financial Officer Ming Liu.
Does anyone know what project this is?

Quote:
Other projects include apartments and townhomes, which are also a block or two west of Ponce City Market and the Beltline’s Eastside Trail.
Also these projects?

Quote:
Near Mercedes-Benz Stadium, its mixed-use development anchored by the Hard Rock Hotel, known as Castleberry Park, could see vertical construction start later this year, Liu said.
Good news...
Quote:
Dezhu plans to invest $200 million in new Atlanta projects this year, and then increase its investment to $350 million next year, Liu told Atlanta Business Chronicle. One project it’s looking at is near Emory University Hospital Midtown. For now, it’s only focused on expanding its portfolio in Atlanta, though it eventually wants to expand to cities in North Carolina, Florida and Texas.
With that budget, a project there could be quite substantial.

Maybe it is related to Verizon's rolling out of 5G Wifi (they are doing invite only testing now) based home internet. I was invited to the trial which had potential to give me a free UHDTV and some coin, but my unit that literally has direct line of sight to the Verizon tower in Midtown couldn't get a signal through the double glazed glass.

Demo has been completed for a while, still waiting on land development permit to be issued.

It's not Amazon HQ2, but it's something...

San Francisco analytics software firm picks Atlanta for East Coast headquarters

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...irm-picks.html

Quote:
San Francisco-based software firm New Relic has picked Atlanta for its East Coast headquarters.

New Relic's analytics software helps businesses monitor application and infrastructure performance so they can resolve issues, and improve the online customer experiences. New Relics said it provides analytics to more than 40 percent of the Fortune 100.

In Atlanta, New Relic will locate in WeWork's nearly 60,000 square foot co-working space at Midtown's Colony Square mixed-used development. While New Relic did not disclose how many employees it will have at its East Coast headquarters, its office space can accommodate nearly 40 people, a source said.

The Atlanta headquarters will be "instrumental in helping drive the next phase of growth by providing better coverage to customers along the Eastern Seaboard and expanding access to new sources of great, diverse talent," New Relic said in a blog post Thursday.

725 & North & Line:

Really wish we’d see more development north of Ponce.

Reading this comment made me chuckle as someone that heard warnings to never venture south of ponce in decades past.

Would require the demolition of two very successful shopping centers (more if you include everything up to Ansley Mall). Otherwise, there isn't a ton of developable land along the Beltline north of Ponce.

I actually wish there would be more on North and Ponce between the Beltline and Midtown, but that would also require some demolitions and probably zoning changes too.

Georgia power site, there’s a metal fabrication shop, art studios, two storage facilities, two suburban style apartment complexes, underutilized land in gym and dog day cares, strip malls, furniture/lighting store, and parking lots. There’s plenty to develop and redevelop on the beltline north of Ponce and bring back in many of the same services and house more people and retail.

I agree about more along north and ponce toward midtown.
