here's the very northern portion of midtown, all of buckhead village/lenox, and a bit of perimeter center poking up in the background, taken from the top of atlantic house:

Updated Denver photo - I took the first one in 2009. The second one, from about the same spot, was taken on Sept. 30 2017:

Not to drag up too old of a thread, but I came across this picture taken on a clear day with a nice view from Miami all the way to Fort Lauderdale (far top center/left) and the many skylines in between:

Pics by me. Taken from Eagle Rock reservation in NJ on this glorious Sunday.

Can see Midtown and Lower Manhattan. Two skylines. Technically, 3 if you include Jersey City, and if I had taken a pano (used cellphone), on the far right, Newark would of been visible.

Most definitely!

From afar: Midtown is starting to develop an imbalance with all the new super-talls near the park.

Those living in those spacious single families on large lots are sitting on a gold mine! Buy and hold.

Awesome shot. Atlanta has the best overall architecture among its various skylines, better than any similar-sized metro, and also pound-for-pound holds its weight against larger metro skylines.

The two skylines in one shot cities that always impress me the most are Dallas and Fort Worth and the Twin Cities. Ones that have a medical district or some other commercial district outside of downtown or even one of their suburbs aren't really that surprising. Seeing two separate cities that are 30+ miles apart is really impressive.

Gotta love the not-so-subtle shot at Houston, LOL.

^ Well it's true. Houston, Atlanta, and NYC, too - these are just skyline pictures big enough to capture each of those city's peaks and valleys. If those were the only pictures posted here, this thread would have died on the vine many years and pages ago. Most captivating are those that make you say, holy shit, I can't believe you can see ABC from XYZ. While some of the Midtown and Downtown (pick a city) shots are cool, no one is amazed or in shock that both can be captured in the same image.

Still waiting for someone to go to Six Flags in NJ and capture shots of NYC (80 miles) and Philly (60 miles). It wouldn't be in the same image but still damn near impressive! I know I've seen Philly from Trenton (30 miles).

^ That's outstanding!

Kingda Ka is 456' tall (planet earth's tallest roller coaster) and is ~45 miles from lower manhattan and ~41 miles from center city philly.

six flags great america in chicagoland is in a similar position between chicago and milwaukee (~37 miles from downtown chicago, ~46 miles from downtown milwaukee), and while the chicago skyline can be seen on clear days from the tops of the tallest rides, the milwaukee skyline is not nearly tall/large enough to be discernible, at least not that i've ever been able to tell (and i've tried looking for it on many occasions). also, six flags great america's tallest ride, the 285' sky trek tower, is a good deal shorter than Kingda Ka, so that doesn't help matters.

I followed the link from the Philly/NYC pictures. The person on Reddit got the pictures from SkyscraperCity. The person on SkyscraperCity got it from Reddit (unsourced). The cycle goes on, I guess.

That is cool. Imagine if the pictures were taken on a crystal clear fall day.
