Thumbs up Thank you...

Architect2010, you've done well. Thanks for the comprehensive update(s). You've done your hometown proud.

OKC has certainly changed greatly over the last 10 years.

Thanx LWR.
Yes, OKC has changed so much and I can't imagine how much it'll change in the next ten years with the possibility of a Pro Sport Franchise. Its really exciting living some place that is moving along so quickly and it sure makes it that much more enjoyable.

Double Post...I know...tisk tisk! =P

Here are the updated renderings of the FlatIron project in the Triangle Area in DT OKC. The building was originally planned to have a mix of retail, residential, and office space. The building recently went under redesign and the new design has less residential at 19 lofts, but has more retail and office space. I personally like the new design better... post your opinion on it.

This is what it will look like after construction.

And the view from I-235...

Definetly sounds good, and it can almost seem like a sure thing, considering the almost the entire tower will be one main tenant, Devon Energy. It makes sense to consolidate and go vertical. They should hire the best architects they can get and go for the tallest not only in OKC, but in Oklahoma period. It is an energy company afterall, they can probably afford to buy all of downtown! Downtown OKC is literally on the "lip of the cup" so to speak as a major downtown. This along with the revamping of First National Center aka Empire State Bldg of the Plains, will really get downtown noticed.

well, if anyone has the means to build big in this market it's an energy company. i hope they top tulsa's tallest. it's not a competition thing... it's just okc is bigger and it would be an exclamtion point on the DT and bricktown renaissance. i hope this thing goes (and looks nice too).

Thumbs up OKC ICON coming near Main and Main

"CLASS A" DOESN'T DEFINE IT

Devon Energy recently announced they plan to consolidate it's employess into one single, new, downtown office tower. Huge news for a city that has been waiting over 40 years for a new tallest. It will be over 1 million sq. ft of space, it'll be an "ICON for not just OKC, but Oklahoma!" This pretty much signals a continued renaissance of downtown that all began with Bricktown, now spilling over vertically. Many expect a new monument to Oklahoma, and being an energy company, cash is not the slightest of worries. Cost estimates just now are ranging from $350 to $450 million, and they haven't even picked an architect to toss out a simple drawn rendering, more the less an actual model. Whatever it looks like, and whenever its revealed, I'm sure OKC residents will gasp and think" We're stepping it up now" The site is near OKC's Main & Main, Robinson and Park intersection, just 2 blocks from the current Devon headquarters. Some are already thinking this could be the beginning of a skyscraper boom for the Capital City, and rightfully should, Tulsa's had the crown long enough.

I really cannot wait to see renderings of this. I just can't wait! =P
I dunno if this will be the beginning of a skyscraper boon since we have plenty of vacant space available. But maybe when companies see a new skyscraper going up that it'll lure them downtown. Hopefully we can get rid or dramatically update some of the disgraces in Downtown to make our skyline even more attractive :cough:AT&T:cough: :coughowell Center:cough:

GUYS!!!

Renderings will be released today...finally. We will get to see our long-awaited tower. It is known not to be 'traditional'. Good thing, I think we have wnough of that.

And as all you know, the un-needed battle has ended and OKC now has the NBA. Sources say the name is THUNDER. I think its...mehhh. But seeing as there are names similiar to it, i.e. Heat, Magic, Nets, I think I'll warm up to it.

I'll post renderings of our new scraper as soon as they surface! They are having the meeting right now downtown. I am so excited. :]

54 floors

925 feet

1.9 million sf

More renderings. I'll also point out that at 925', this will be taller than Dallas' tallest, Bank of America Plaza.

I am speechless! About time Oklahoma City took it to the next step, I'm guessing this was designed by Packard-Chilton. Anyway I love it, congrats OC!!!

Great point, I am very suprised that the developers in any city throughout Texas haven't pushed this far within the last few years. Oklahoma City appears to be showing some muscle and is in full swing to compete with the projects in every city throughout Texas...
