"CLASS A" DOESN'T DEFINE IT
Devon Energy recently announced they plan to consolidate it's employess into one single, new, downtown office tower. Huge news for a city that has been waiting over 40 years for a new tallest. It will be over 1 million sq. ft of space, it'll be an "ICON for not just OKC, but Oklahoma!" This pretty much signals a continued renaissance of downtown that all began with Bricktown, now spilling over vertically. Many expect a new monument to Oklahoma, and being an energy company, cash is not the slightest of worries. Cost estimates just now are ranging from $350 to $450 million, and they haven't even picked an architect to toss out a simple drawn rendering, more the less an actual model. Whatever it looks like, and whenever its revealed, I'm sure OKC residents will gasp and think" We're stepping it up now" The site is near OKC's Main & Main, Robinson and Park intersection, just 2 blocks from the current Devon headquarters. Some are already thinking this could be the beginning of a skyscraper boom for the Capital City, and rightfully should, Tulsa's had the crown long enough.
